Reporting to the VP Finance, the Controller will manage Body Vision’s accounting and Finance Operations processes, provide financial information, about all company activities that will assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future. The ideal candidate will have experience working with dynamic manufacturing startups, ideally in the medical device industry. We are looking for a candidate that brings a significant knowledge and experience in accounting and start-ups. This leadership role acts as key accounting subject matter expert to the VP Finance, and the CFO on critical business issues including controls, revenue recognition, COGS and Inventory accounting, unit cost reduction actions, cash flow improvements and accounting policy application. The individual in this role is also the global Inventory Valuation Policy owner, providing policy guidance and direction for inventory-related questions across Body Vision Medical.
Your responsibility
  • Evaluate and maintain accounting and related information systems software for current and future use. Establish controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data
  • Review and understand complex partnership agreements for compliance and reporting responsibilities
  • Own accounting processes on Body Vision’s Priority ERP system
  • Procurement and management of commercial insurance policies
  • Participate in month, quarter, and year-end close
  • Memorialize technical accounting advice for complex transactions
  • Coordinate with third parties to complete all required financial documents / reviews including annual audits, tax reporting, etc.
  • Produce and review ad hoc financial reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA certification with 4 + years of public accounting experience, ideally in one of the big 4 accounting firms. Controller accounting experience a plus
  • Experience in preparing GAAP compliant financial reports as part of a manufacturing company (ideally medical device startups)
