Body Vision Medical was founded in 2014 by Dorian Averbuch. Previously, Averbuch pioneered, developed and commercialized electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB) at superDimension (now part of Medtronic), where he learned about the specific challenges of early stage lung cancer.
Dorian and other Body Vision Medical leaders saw the promise of ENB, but also acknowledged its limitations to address the unmet need of greater diagnostic success of endobronchial biopsies.
Instead, Body Vision took a clean slate approach to develop LungVision®, an AI-powered, intraoperative imaging system that transforms X-ray images from any conventional C-arm into real-time, intraoperative CT scans. This eliminates CT-to-body divergence and enables visual confirmation of tool-in-lesion during endobronchial biopsies, empowering bronchoscopists to biopsy from smaller, more difficult-to-access lung lesions at an earlier stage, thus maximizing the likelihood of an early diagnosis for lung cancer patients and improving odds for survival.
Through ongoing collaboration with physicians, clinical specialists and engineers across many specialties, Body Vision continues to pioneer a new standard of care in lung cancer diagnostics. Together, we are working towards a world where lung cancer can be managed, and patients can find hope and options for their continued care.
